Wrestling.... Isn't Burger King

While chilling out on my couch the day after I returned home from Asheville, NC where I attended AEW's Dynamite, Fight For the Fallen I came across an interesting take on the social media machine.

"I find it crazy how so many people DEMAND wrestling is booked their way. Their favorites HAVE TO always win. The more interactions someone gets, the more they overvalue their opinions. Their way should be the only way wrestling is done." ---AEWDefender

It made me wonder why people think wrestling is like Burger King and you can have it your way. Well, let's take a look......

When you go to Burger King, whose motto is 'have it your way' you basically can have it your way. You can get your burger with whatever you want. However, wrestling is not that way nor will it ever be. What has happened....SOCIAL MEDIA. Fans run to social media to complain because they fantasy booked a storyline or match and when that does not come to fruition, they get upset at whom..... NO, not themselves, but the booker. Did the booker promise you this fantasy match or story you, the fan-created in your mind??? NO. You have no one to blame but yourself yet your first impulse is to run to social media and cry about it.

Wrestling is supposed to be an escape from reality for a few hours to watch something you enjoy. As for myself, I have been watching wrestling since I was 8 and now I am much much older...lol. While I like some wrestlers and hate others I still enjoy the product. Do I get mad when a wrestler I like loses, of course, we are human and we are pretty much like that in any sport. However, I do not get on social media and blast bookers thinking I know more than they do.

Many fans only say, well I am just giving honest critiques of the program. NO, many of you are doing it for engagement on your social media and because it's "the in thing" to do. You critique wrestling without really offering solutions to the problems "YOU" see with the product. There is nothing wrong with CHAOS in our wrestling.... in fact, that is what makes wrestling fun. So stop whining when you don't get your wrestling the way you fantasy book it. We have no idea what the booker has in his/her mind for their wrestling shows.  Let them do them and if you think you can do it better, then start your own promotion where you can HAVE IT YOUR WAY!!

(Side note: if you want a true, honest critique of wrestling then find a podcast that does that (my suggestion: @TheCovalentTV), and don't just follow the MASSES.... because if you remove the M, then you are just a following ASS.)
