INITIAL THOUGHTS: The Crowd is hyped. The set looks great. The Jericho/Bandido match was FUCKING TERRIBLE. Match placement was awful, no way should there have been two shitty matches back-to-back.  The flying spots in the 3-way match were in the right places.

Zero Hour: Happy to see Anthony Bowens back and repackaged. He does look like he has put on more muscle and looks good in the ring. The tag match between Top Flight and AR Fox versus Cru/Nick Wayne was perfect. AR Fox is a great veteran in the ring and Top Flight looks like they need to be in the tag team picture soon. Cru has the potential and I do like them as a tag team.

Ospreay V Knight – 1st Round Of The Owen Hart Tournament - Men

We will get good ol’ JR on the call. The bell rings and the crowd is singing Ospreay’s name. Knight with an arm lock. Knight is showing off his skill set against one of the best. Ospreay goes flying and takes Knight out. Ospreay with chops to Knight and now into a body stretch. Knight with a nice clothes lines. Knight with a 2 count. Ospreay, with a corkscrew kick, gets a 2 count. Knight does a good job of selling. Ospreay goes for the styles clash but Knight reverses it into a spinning DDT on the ramp. Knight gets a 2 count.  Knight goes up top, gets another 2 counts. The styles clash finally hit after trying twice. Opsreay hits the Oscutter with only a 2 count. Ospreay finally hits the Hidden Blade, gets the pin. If you like chain wrestling, this match is the match for you. Great way to start the show and get the crowd fired up. If you had not seen Kevin Knight wrestle, you have to be impressed with his showing tonight.

Big Bill/Bryan Keith v Hurt Syndicate (c) – AEW Tag Team Championship

We are getting MVP on the headset, yes. Lashley and Keith start the match off, but tag in Bill, who matches up better in size. We get a tie-up. Bill taking out the Hurt Syndicate. Nice knee by Sheldon on Bill, who was on the apron. Lashley with the shoulder to the mid-section. Sheldon is backed into the wrong corner, and Keith gets a 1 count. Sheldon is throwing Keith like a rag doll between the barrier and ring. Bil,l with a boot to Lashley. Bill with a side slam on Sheldon for a 2 count.  Sheldon, with a kick to Bill. We get MFJ taking out Big Bill on the outside with a hit from that Diamond Ring of MJFs. Keith takes the spear, and Sheldon gets the pin.

Mercedes Mone v Julia Hart – 1st Round of the Owen Hart Tournament – Women

Have always loved Julia’s presentation and entrance. Mone is giving me Phoenix vibes. We get a lock up. Hart sends Mone into the corner. We see Harley Cameron and the puppet, Mini Mone. Hart with a backslide for a 2 count. Hart with elbows to Mone. Hart is doing old-school Undertaker. The bounces Mone’s head off the mat. Mone with a medeira on Hart outside of the ring. The crowd is split on who to root for. Hart with an inside cradle for a 2 count. Mone hangs Hart upside down in the corner, but Hart pulls herself up and throws Mone into the middle of the ring. Hart with a crossbody to Mone outside of the ring. Hart with a DDT and only gets a 2 count. Mone and Hart are both down in the middle of the ring. Mone has Hart up for the Money Maker, but Hart gets out of it. Hart has Mone in the octopus hold as Mone tries to get the ropes. Hart goes to the top for a moonsault, but Mone gets her feet up. Backstabber from Mone. Hart has the heartless tapped in, but Mone does not tap. Mone has a submission locked in as Hart tries to get to the rope. The crowd begins to chant Julia. Hart is fingertips away from the rope. Hart counters with a 2 count. Mone gets lucky with a pin and gets the hell out of the ring. This match was very good for a women’s match, and I am not a fan of women’s wrestling. This match did hold my attention.

Death Riders v Rated FTR – AEW Trios Tag Championship.

We get Nigel on commentary for this match. I love Nigel and his commentary. Are Rated FTR on the same page tonight? The crowd sings Cope’s song. Yuta is home turf in Philly. Pac and Dax are starting off. The crowd is chanting fuck you Yuta, that is not very nice. Quick roll-up by Pac for a 2 count. I had forgotten how quick Pac was in the ring. Dax goes back to his corner and tags in Cope. Yuta tags in, and he takes up where Pac left off, working on Cope’s arm. Cash and Cope double double-teaming Yuta. Now, Claudio is in and getting lit up by Rated FTR. Cash with a topa on Claudio. Cash in the wrong corner and got his head beaten in by Pac and Claudio. Cash with a powerslam on Yuta, Cash needs to make a tag to Cope, Dax stole the tag Cash was going to make to Cope. Dax is taking out the Death Riders, but you can see the confusion on Cope’s face. Cope has Yuta in a submission, and Claudio and Dax have their opponent in sharp shooters, and they are slapping each other. Claudio hit uppercuts on Rated FTR. Dax goes for the swing, and Yuta gets ready for the dropkick. Yuta only gets a 2 count. Dax is getting a train ran on him with elbows by the Death Riders. Dax is getting beat after Claudio sends Yuta and Pac to splash on Dax. Dax makes the hot tag to Cope. Cope with a back body drop on Yuta. Yuta, with a dropkick from the top rope on Cope. Pac has the brutalizer locked on Dax. Claudio has Cope, and Yuta has Cash. Cash pulls Yuta over and breaks up the submission. Shatter machine is hit by FTR and Spear by Cope, Claudio breaks up the pin on Yuta. Cope takes out Claudio with a spear outside the ring. Yuta gets the pin on Dax for the Death Riders to retain after a miscue from Rated FTR.  Rated FTR in the ring, Cope and Dax laying in the ring as Cash standing. Dax, with a driver on Cope as Cash’s back was turned. Dax is with a chair, looking at Cash. Cash throws chair down and pushes Dax…oh shit FTR hits the Shatter machine then Dax with a pile driver on the chair. Time for the conchairto on Cope.  Another one by Cash. They are not letting the medical staff get in the ring, finally, Cope is taken out on the stretcher. Where is this going?

Megan Bayne v Toni Storm(c) – AEW Women’s World Championship

Toni Storm’s intro package was awesome. Storm comes out as Rocky; this is great. The crowd is definitely behind Storm. The bell rings we get a lock up. The crowd is doing the European chants where they chant Toni, Toni Storm..we can stop that; we are in the United States. Bayne catches Storm out of the air for a slam. Storm with a crossbody, then kicks to the thigh of Bayne. Nice slam by Bayne, who is dominating Storm at the moment. Bayne goes airborne, but instead of taking out Storm, she takes out Luther. Storm is back on the attack. Nice off-the-top-rope cross body for a 2 count. Penelope distracts Storm as Bayne has ref ends up taking a boot to the face by Bayne. Bayne with numerous lariats to Storm. Belly to Belly clean over the top by Bayne. Luther is taking Penelope up the ramp, distracting Bayne as Storm mounts some offensive. Storm with a spike DDT to Bayne, then into a submission hold. Bayne fights her way out and makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Bayne with back Supplex on Storm. Bayne went for a fate descent, but Storm went up, and both ladies hit the mat after a German Supplex. Storm with rights to Bayne. Storm is going for a hip attack, but Bayne catches her and then hits a German on Storm. Bayne with a falcon arrow for a 2 count. Storm hits hip attack. 3 hip attacks by Storm and then hits the Storm Zero for a 1 count. Bayne is back on offense, taking down Storm. Nice power bomb by Bayne. She is going for the fate descents, but Storm reverses and rolls her up into a small package and gets the 3 count.. WOW!!! Now, this was a great women’s match.

Kyle Fletcher v Mark Briscoe – 1st Round Owen Hart Tournament Match – Men

As Briscoe makes his way to the ring, Fletcher flies over the rope to take Briscoe out. Nice uppercut by Briscoe on Fletcher. Briscoe with a flipping neck breaker on Fletcher outside of the ring. Off the barrier, Briscoe, with an elbow drop, on Fletcher, who is lying on the floor. Briscoe is throwing chairs into the ring. Fletcher Supplex Briscoe onto the chair he had set up to fly. Fletcher with a snap slam and walking around the ring methodically. Briscoe is now fighting back. The ref asks Fletcher what are you doing, Fletcher replies, what do you think I am doing, he pile drives Briscoe onto the floor. Fletcher then throws Briscoe into the barricade and it is ugly looking. Briscoe could have gotten whiplash from that. Don Callis on commentary is golden and is a must. Fletcher with knees to the mid-section of Briscoe. Both men had the same idea with clotheslines, they are both down. Fisherman’s buster by Briscoe stuns Fletcher. Fletcher with the protobuster for a 2 count. Briscoe, with a bomb off the top rope, only gets a 2 count. Froggy bow only a 2 count. Briscoe with a driver, but both men are down. Fletcher is smart, rolling out of the ring. Fletcher gets the win with a brain buster on the turnbuckle. The match was good, but went on a little longer than it needed to.

Chris Jericho (c) v Bandido – ROH World Title versus Mask of Bandido

Jericho puts up the ROH World Championship against Bandido’s mask.  Jericho with a code breaker for a 2 count. It was close to three. Jericho with a lion Sault for another 2 counts. Jericho is acting like the rent is due in this match. Bandido, finally with some offense,e sends Jericho to the outside, and he goes flying. Sends Jericho into the barricade, back into the ring Bandido with a 2 count. The crowd is not really into this match. Bandido holds Jericho vertical for a minute but only gets a 2 count. Jericho looks a little loopy and unsteady on his feet. Jericho with a power bomb on Bandido on the floor. Jericho is taunting Bandido’s family. Jericho grabs the camera and becomes a cameraman. Was that a dig at a certain someone in another wrestling promotion??? Hmmm… There is a count of 20 under Ring of Honor rules. Nigel says Jericho is still a heartthrob to many. Where is this many, Nigel?? Bandido with a DDT, stay on him Bandido. Jericho hits the next level dropkick kick, then goes to taunt Bandido’s family again. 2 counts for Bandido after a frog splash. Bryan Keith comes out, and then Gravity comes out. Jericho with Floyd hit Bandido as the ref is too busy with outside fuckery. Why, there was another ref out there dealing with. Jericho gets the win, but Bandido’s family tells Aubrey that Jericho used the bat. And the match continues… and finally Bandido wins.. This match has gone on way too long and has become boring. Nothing against Bandido, but this match should have ended about 15 minutes earlier than it did. What the fuck was Tony Khan thinking on this… this was the worse match on the card with all this bullshit fuckery. Jericho, just go ahead and retire, go back to the WWE, and get your Hall of Fame Induction you claim you do not want.

Daniel Garcia (c) v Adam Cole – TNT Championship

No Time Limit, No Outside Interference

Daniel Garcia is not a dragon that needs to be slain. They are throwing elbows. Seriously, after that shit match of Jericho, I have no interest in this match. Garcia is not taking it easy on Cole, who might be injured. Garcia is focusing on the leg of Cole. Garcia is having his way with Cole in the ring. YAWN!!!!!!! The crowd is not in this match, either. This match should end quickly, but unfortunately, it will not because we all know Garcia is Tony Khan’s boy. Garcia did a nice pile driver on Cole, who cannot get much of an offense. This match has the aura of a dead cat (thanks, Matthew, for this). This match is so boring that I would rather watch paint dry. Garcia has Cole in the ankle lock. Garcia uses Cole's moves against him only gets a 2 count. Garcia goes for the pile driver off the ropes, but Cole holds on to starts headbutting Garcia. 2 Panama sunrise to Garcia, then going for the boom, he hits it and gets the pin.. New TNT Champion.

Speedball Mike Bailey v Ricochet v Kenny Omega (c) – International Championship Match

There goes the Pyro budget on Omega, who deserves it. Omega never disappoints with his entrances. The crowd is chanting Kenny, which is well-deserved. The bell rings, and Ricochet rolls out of the ring, leaving Bailey and Omega they lock up. Ricochet sneaks back in and gets his head kicked off by Bailey. Ricochet sends Omega into the announce table. Omega is from behind on Ricochet and mounting offense on everyone.  Hurricanrana through the ropes on Omega by Bailey. Ricochet slams Bailey onto Omega’s back, who is hanging over the barricade. Ricochet with a 2 count on Bailey. As Ricochet on commentary Bailey knocks his head off. There are plenty of high-flying spots in this match, which is not taking away from the match. Omega, with a double backslide, only gets a 2 count. All men are down in the ring. Omega goes flying over the top rope. Bailey, with a standing knee drop on Ricochet, who was on top of Omega. Ricochet takes out Bailey, goes back in the ring to make it a one-on-one with Omega. Omega with a snap dragon Supplex on Bailey and one on Ricochet, too. Omegais going to do a snap dragon Supplex on both Bailey and Ricochet at the same time.. WOW!!! V-trigger to Ricochet, then one for Bailey, who goes out of the ring. Ricochet escapes the one-winged angel. Omega with a knee bar on Bailey’s injured knee. Ricochet hits vertigo and only gets a 2 count on Bailey. The poor referee takes a bump. Omega, with a one-winged angel off the rope to Ricochets and then gets the win as Bailey was tied up in the ropes. Omega retains after a 30-minute match.. We hear the coin drop…it is Okada…..He makes his way to the ring, and we get a staredown. Omega walks out of the ring, and Okada stands there looking at the crowd...Omega/Okada at All In Texas is going to be awesome. If you have not seen any Omega/Okada matches, go check out their feud in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Swerve v Jon Moxley (c) – AEW World Championship.

The AEW World Title has not been seen since October of 2024. Swerve was the 11th AEW World Champion. The bell rings, and we get some jawing between the two. Swerve takes down Mox in some technical wrestling. Swerve is working on Mox’s arm. Mox with a wrist lock on Swerve. Swerve is showing Mox why he is the most dangerous man in AEW. Mox knocks Swerve off the top rope, and Marina comes by and steps on him. Mox is now taking it to Swerve. Nana, jawing at Marina, asks if she is crazy or something. Mox throws Swerves into the announce table and poor Excalibur says oh shit and goes down. Swerve is busted open and Mox goes to get the steel steps. Mox is biting and hitting Swerve on that busted cut. Mox with a DDT to Swerve on the steel steps. Swerve is taking a beating. Finally, Swerve is fighting back. Marina hits Nana with the briefcase. Swerve pulls Marina in the way and Mox hits the paradigm shift on her. Swerve gets a 2 count.  Crowd chanting fuck you Moxley. Mox, looking under the ring for something, pulls out a ladder, and Fan yells You sick bastard. Mox sets the ladder up in front of the steel steps.  Mox sends Swerve up the ladder and then Mox to the other side of the ladder. They are going through the announce table. Swerve bites Mox as Mox backs down the ladder. Swerve stomps off the ladder through the announce table, both are down. Swerve is grabbing his knee. Both men are crawling back towards the ring. Back in the ring, they exchange blows. Mox kicks the injured knee of Swerve. Marina sends the chair into the ring; Mox hits the ref with the chair. Hangman Page comes out on the apron, looking at Swerve going for a buckshot lariat, but here come the Death Riders to take out Hangman. Yuta misses and hits Claudio. Hangman hits deadeye on Mox, out comes the Ops taking out the Death Riders. Swerve with a chair to Mox. Swerve to the top for the Swerve stomp but cannot make the cover. Lights go out… the Young Bucks holding Swerve BTE trigger to Swerve. And Mox pins Swerves to retain the title.

So What Is Next?

We are gearing up to a title unification match between Omega and Okada possibly? I personally do not want to see a unification of these titles, but I understand people saying there are too many titles in AEW. Anytime you get these two in the ring, there will be match and possible match of the year contender.

Moxley, Moxley….There are many ways to go here. After listening to a great podcast (@TheCovalentTV), they brought up a great point. Mox is being booked like a true heel, and unfortunately, fans have been programmed not to understand how a “real heel” should be booked. The Young Bucks helping Mox makes since if you truly pay attention to AEW programming, but we will have to see what their reason is. Many think we are setting up for a Swerve/Hangman versus Young Bucks in the future. I could see that, but do I want to see it?… not really sure at the moment. I will need to see what Hangman and Swerve have to say.

Kyle Fletcher is HIM…yes, I said it. He can make a broom look good in that ring. Teaming up with Don Callis was a brilliant move. He can do singles or tag him with Takeshita and give them tag team gold in the future.

Mercedes Mone is that bitch... she has elevated every talent in AEW that has stepped in the ring with here. A lot of fans are mad that she is doing it on her own terms and walked out of the "industry standard" WWE. Not everything revolves around the WWE. Get over it and look at her talent and ability in the ring.

Ending Thoughts

The fake outrage over the ending of this PPV is comical. Fans have become so self-centered that they get pissed off when they fantasy book a show and it does not turn out they way they want. You were the one who set yourself up for disappointment, not Tony Khan. If you actually pay attention, you know it’s rare that Khan pivots on something he has in mind for the show. So take your fake outrage and shove it. This PPV was great because AEW does not miss on PPV. Could have done better, of course, no show is perfect. I would give this show an 8 out of 10. The reason is because of the Jericho match and the Garcia match.
